Blame pop culture is what can be most simply called an awareness campaign. The intent of the project as a whole is to show people how throughout history people have a tendacy to demonize different elements of pop culture and blame them for their problems. The project highlights the absurdity in popular thinking by through imagry, scarcasm and simply showing people cases of music, movies etc. that have been blamed for multiple problems in the past but, as most people know, have turned out to be not only harmless but highly
impactful on society. Photography was chosen for this project because of its ability to express ideas in a way that can be shocking but humorous at the same time. Music, Television and Video Games were chosen as the subject of the imagery because they are the most relivant and talked about in recent years. The phtography was carefuly crafted to express an extreme version many of peoples views.
Many small posters were created that could be place almost anywhere to draw attention to the
campaign. A large informational poster, brochure and website were developed to provide those who are interested with not only information but sources where they can educate themselves. A total of five graphic models were created to relay much of the information to the viewer graphicaly and to make them want to read more.
